Why Am I Seeing the MINI Cooper Tire Pressure Light?

Did the tire pressure light illuminate on your dash? If your car drives like normal and your tires are inflated, then the problem could be the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Anytime the TPMS stops working properly, the light will turn on, even if air pressure is adequate. A broken tire pressure sensor could be to blame. East Bay MINI’s service center can diagnose and repair the problem using genuine OEM parts.

When Do I Need New MINI Cooper Tires?

The penny test is the fastest way to see if you need new tires. Place a penny between the treads of your car’s tires. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, then the treads are worn, and the tire needs to be replaced. If part of Lincoln’s head is covered, your tire still has more than 2/32 of an inch of tread depth. Other signs to look for include:

  • Blisters on the tire’s surface
  • Cracked sidewalls
  • Shaking even on smooth driving surfaces
  • Uneven tire wear

To get the most life out of your MINI tires, it’s recommended that you follow a regular tire rotation schedule.
