At East Bay Authorized Service Center in Pleasanton, CA, we know it can be nerve wracking to see a dashboard light come on. However, if you do see a tire pressure light come on, it's important that you understand why this has happened.

In some cases, it may go off because it sat in a cold environment for too long. For instance, if you leave your car in the garage overnight, the tires will lose up to 10 pounds of pressure. However, after driving for a few minutes, the tires should reinflate and the light should go off.

The light may also go off if the tire has a puncture that has caused a slow or fast leak. In the case of a fast leak, you'll need to put your spare on right away. However, it may be possible to drive several miles to a service shop if the tire has a slow leak.
