Encountering a flat tire while you are out and about is sudden and often frustrating, yet anyone can change their flat tire and go about their day with the right tools and knowledge. Here is how.

Changing Your Flat Tire

If you encounter a flat tire, ensure you have a spare tire, your owner's manual, a lug wrench, and a jack. Next, turn on your hazard lights, apply the parking brake, and apply wheel wedges in front or behind your tires.

Next, remove the hubcap or wheel cover and remove the lug nuts. Place your jack under the vehicle and raise it. Unscrew the lug nuts all the way and remove the flat tire. Place the spare tire, retighten the lug nuts, lower your vehicle, and clean up any tools left on the ground around your vehicle. Finally, you can be on your way. Ensure you stop by a service station to get a new spare tire.
