Every modern vehicle, new or used, comes with a warranty. Yet, warranties do not last, and not all warranties are equal. Some end within a year, while others can last for nearly a decade. Knowing when your vehicle's warranty ends can be the difference between paying the right amount of money for service and paying more than you should.
How Warranties End
Warranties typically end after the time limit is up, but they can also end before that if you exceed the mileage limitations. For example, if you have a 12-month warranty/12,000-mile warranty, your warranty can end before the 12 months are up if you exceed 12,000 miles. If you keep track of these limits, you can easily know when your warranty is up.
If you cannot remember these limitations or find your warranty documents, contact the dealership where you purchased your vehicle.
